Welcome to Fox Sports News

With the rebranding of ESPNews to Fox Sports News, I was in charge of the debut show on the renamed channel.

With many new elements in the live production, it was important to have open and clear communication between the news team and the director's crew.

Following a major weekend in sports, this Monday morning show highlighted many of the biggest draws for our audience.

The NBA on Boxing Day

With the time difference between the US and Singapore, the NBA's big Christmas schedule takes place on the 26th of December.

I produced this show with a heavy emphasis on the marquee NBA games.  In addition, we diversified the show with one of the best rivalries in cricket, India playing Pakistan. We also previewed a full slate of games in the English Premier League.

A-Rod's Farewell

This is an example of how I handled a big story throughout a series of morning shows.

Our first bulletin of the day came on shortly after Andy Roddick lost the last match of his career. I edited, wrote and voiced the highlights and reaction.

For the second show, I wanted to put more of an "in-review" look back on his career.  After getting some new press conference reaction, I put in a nice piece from John McEnroe.

Finally, the last show of the morning saw Roddick pushed off the lead. That's only because his great friend and rival Roger Federer got knocked out of the US Open. Still though, we developed both stories, with a on court reaction from Federer's loss and new reaction and expert chat from Roddick's.

Wimbledon Woes

On the day of the Euro 2012 semi-final between Spain and Italy, Rafael Nadal suffered a shock exit at Wimbledon.

Both were massive stories, and the idea to do a quick update off the top made the most sense to me.

This segment is an example of how I wanted to cover the big stories from multiple angles.

The Reign of Spain

Euro 2012 came to an end with a historic win for Spain. Just before the broadcast, Tiger Woods wrapped up his third title of 2012. We were able to get his final putt in during the bulletin.

Countdown to Euro 2012

On the eve of Euro 2012, this bulletin ran at 6 PM. About an hour before the show, news broke on two stories.  First, David Beckham was expected to be included in the Great Britain Olympic squad, and second, Steve Clarke was joining West Brom.

I felt this gave the show a more hard news approach off the top, and then we followed with tournament previews. We rounded out the segment with LeBron James' big game against the Celtics.

Mario's Mistake

On this day's 7 AM bulletin, Spain and Italy's draw in their Euro 2012 Opener was the lead.  To me, one of the biggest moments of the game involved Italy striker Mario Balotelli.  I wanted to flesh out that story off the top.
